Quest Reborn Winter Outpost Walkthrough

The second door, the snow remaster that stops at Hard, and the legacy ladder that still has Nightmare 55.

Winter Outpost Guide

Winter Outpost is dungeon two. After Desert Temple you walk into an abandoned snow camp, fight Frost Minions and ice casters, and finish on the Ice Elemental. The 2026 confusion is the same split as Desert: a remaster that launched on 1 March 2024 and a legacy map that still carries Insane 50 and Nightmare 55. New accounts often land on remaster Hard, never see a purple chest, and think Winter deleted difficulties. It did not.

The video in the middle is a real early-game tape from the Community’s Cut series. Use it to see how the first two biomes actually feel, then come back for the gates. Pair this page with the Dungeon List and the dungeon checker.

Remaster versus legacy

Remaster Winter Outpost

  • Easy through Hard only. Community tables still list Easy around 30–33, Medium 40, Hard 45.
  • Fifteen-minute-class remaster clock on the new layout.
  • Ice and snow theme, Ice King cosmetic sets on the Hard chest.
  • Gregg can drop in remaster rooms and pays Obsidian Chunk here.
  • No Nightmare legendary printer.

Legacy Winter Outpost

  • Easy 33, Medium 40, Hard 45, Insane 50, Nightmare 55.
  • Ten-minute timer.
  • Full rarity ladder. Crystalized Greatsword is the famous early physical legendary people still mention in chat.
  • Gregg does not spawn in legacy Winter.
  • Wave Defense still exists on the old map and remains one of the cleanest XP hoses before Pirate Island.

If the play menu only shows Easy–Hard, you are on remaster. Look for the same legacy / old-map toggle you used in Desert Temple. The short on that Desert page still demonstrates both doors because Voldex never added a tooltip.

Play remaster to learn ice telegraphs. Switch to legacy when you want Nightmare loot, Wave Defense, and a chest that can actually roll Legendary. How to get legendaries does not apply on remaster Hard.

How to play the snow

Join or create a lobby. Online co-op is the design. Keep the same damage lane you picked in Desert: Physical for a Warrior, Spell Power for a Mage. A 50/50 hybrid already feels slow here and will stall harder on Pirate Island.

The Ice Elemental is a telegraph fight. Circle, do not face-tank the slam. Controls cover Shift Lock, Q, and E. If you die to ice pools more than to missing health, that page is the fix, not a new hat.

Turn on Hardcore mode only if you can finish on one life. Double loot is real. A wipe at the elemental wastes the extra roll.

Recommended health on the early difficulties sits around 500–1,000. Insane and Nightmare want closer to 900–2,000 on a fresh kit. If the checker still says Desert, finish Desert Nightmare first.

After the chest:

  1. Vendor junk at the dock NPC.
  2. Unequip one piece and upgrade it.
  3. Spend points into one damage stat. Skill planner.
  4. Push a higher difficulty on Winter before you sightsee Pirate Island.

Loot, Gregg, and when to leave

Ice King warrior, mage, and guardian sets are the stepping stones. Guardian is for people who actually taunt. Most pubs still want a damage dealer who does not die in the first pack. Wear the matching armor type — a physical sword in mage cloth is a wipe waiting for a beam. Check the Armor tier list.

Crystalized Greatsword is not Voidspire. Farm a usable pot, then move. Sitting in Winter Nightmare for a month because a 2019 video said so is how accounts stall. Pirate Island unlocks Insane 60 and Nightmare 65 and is the first story door that usually locks to those two difficulties only. Read Pirate Island before you queue under-geared.

Gregg’s Obsidian Chunk is the Winter material on the Champion and Oracle ladder. If he laughs in remaster, read the Gregg guide and the Crafting Materials page before you stand in Coin Rain. Do not rebuild your whole schedule around a 75-second cameo.

The Winter Achiever title and Frostwalker Wanderer cosmetic can drop on Hard remaster at a low rate (community tables still quote about 0.48 percent). Cosmetics do not add power. If you came here for skins, open Cosmetics next.

Codes will not skip this map. Daily rewards after you join the official group are the free gold. Extra Item is still optional this early — the dedicated Extra Item page explains when 1200 R$ starts to pay. VIP’s 1.2x EXP is nicer than a snow hat. Gold farming covers the vendor and the 2x Gold pass.

How this door connects

Winter is the last early biome with a remaster split. From Pirate Island onward you mostly see Insane and Nightmare only. The PC nav still shows seven guide links plus View all so this walkthrough lives in the hub, not in a 40-row dropdown.

When the checker says 60, go to Pirate Island. When it still says Winter, finish Nightmare here. When a friend pings King’s Castle at level 40, decline. Invite a party. A four-player Hardcore remaster clear teaches ice dodge faster than a pride solo on legacy Nightmare 55.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Why does my Winter Outpost only go to Hard?

You are on the remaster. Open the legacy version for Insane 50 and Nightmare 55.

Does Gregg spawn in Winter Outpost?

In the remaster, yes, and he drops Obsidian Chunk. In legacy Winter, no.

Should I farm Crystalized Greatsword forever?

No. Grab a usable pot, then move to Pirate Island when the checker says Insane 60.

Is Wave Defense on remaster Winter?

Use legacy Winter if the remaster lobby hid the toggle. The Wave Defense page lists which doors still have it.
